It always surprises me when people ask me who I am, and why I started writing. Quite simply, I am a young adult with a passion to use my words to help other youth and young adults deal with love, relationships, traumas and all the other things which make up life. I also hope my writing will give people a place to lose themselves in, and even start a few difficult conversations as people heal from the hurts and traumas of their own lives.
My desire to write for this age group all started when I was a freshman and went to a church winter camp and felt the Lord building on my passion for helping young adults/youth. I’m sure writing for high school would seem like the best way to reach them, but I didn’t have a ‘normal’ high school experience and frankly high school can often be overly dramatic and just a little frustrating. My high school experience came from attending an Early and Middle College High School which was embedded on a community college campus where I spend most of my time around young adults/college level people. So in short, for me writing for young adults was not only easier but it was also the best fit for who I am.
Of course I hope my writing will speak to people of all ages, and everyone will find something they can apply to their lives in my words.
